What a weird time we're living in.
If anyone told me that I would best serve my community, and the human race, by giving into my introverted tendencies, I would have laughed.
Can this really be happening?
I can't tell you how thankful I am for the practices I've been doing these passed few months. Getting into alignment is a touch harder, but thus far, I've managed to not get anxious or scared of the virus.
So here's the truth, I excel at staying home. This is no hardship. The only parts I find challenging are:
1. Not going to the gym
2. Being stuck at home with 2 extroverts
And you know want to know something? A strange transformation has taken place in me over the passed week: I opened up. (insert face palm emoji)
In my Instagram stories, I announced that I would do my part to entertain my friends by posting the mundane parts of my life, all the mundane, hahaha. And I did. I posted every time I opened and closed the door for my pets, I posted myself baking, I posted about cutting my kids hair.
And then the next day, I posted something that I had never posted before. I posted about my home workout, and about how much I miss the gym. It wasn't a secret, my close friends know I go to the gym, I'm just not one of those people that post things like that for everyone to see. In fact, I don't post a lot about myself at all. I went through a sold year where I only posted photos of scenery.
That was the start of it.
Next, I posted about my meditation and gratitude practices. Holy shit. It still makes me feel weird when I think of it.
I posted about my favorite Law of Attraction podcast.
I shared my favorite meditation app.
I posted a Louise Hay quote.
I posted a screen shot a photo of my Rampage of Appreciation.
I asked people what they were grateful for.
I started liking and commenting on peoples posts.
And then my friends started asking me if I was ok! Hahahahaha!
You don't know me, so you don't know how out of character this all is. I'm so introverted that I have a hard time even liking an acquaintances photo or post. My friends know me as a stoic person that not only rarely shows emotions, but rarely has emotions! This was a lot for them.
So yeah, people asked if I was okay. They thought maybe this outpouring of positivity and well being meant I was having an early mid-life crisis or a mental breakdown. It's pretty funny.
Well, I haven't stopped posting things (I post them to my Instagram stories so that they disappear after 24 hours, that way there's no proof). My kids are embarrassed, this amuses me to no end, so it makes me post more.
I'm sure I'll get over it and post less at some point, but I guess what I'm saying is, that this virus pushed me out of "the closet". Everyone knows I'm into Law of Attraction now. My friends mostly still think it's weird, but they will come around.
